Intra-Oral Massage and TMJ dysfunction
Nancy Newman has now been certified with the State of Washington as a qualified massage therapist licensed and trained to practice intra-oral massage.
What is Intra-Oral Massage?
Intra-Oral massage is a safe and effective technique that works on muscles both inside and outside the mouth, neck and throat. It is an effective treatment for patients who suffer from TMJ dysfunction, clenching, grinding, painful clicking jaw, excess jaw tension, migraines, chronic sinus problems, head injuries, whiplash, strains from orthodontia or dental surgery after effects, headaches, chronic ear congestion, tinnitus, emotional trauma and chronic face and neck pain.
What does it mean to have an Endorsement?
In 2017, Nancy Newman was endorsed by the State of Washington (Endorsement for Intra-Oral Massage Therapy). In the past, these techniques have primarily been administered by dentists, orthodontists etc. Now the state allows skillful massage therapists with at least 16 hours of training to address these issues, giving more options and access to those who suffer from TMJ disorder and other related tissue stress patterns.
