After 25+ years of working in the corporate world, and looking for something that would satisfy her desire to be more directly involved in making a difference to help others, Nancy ventured into a career as Licensed Massage Practitioner and owner of My Massage in Seattle
.
It was through her own need to repair/restore mobility after tissue trauma (received when she was impacted by a car while riding her bicycle) that Nancy was first introduced to Structural Integration bodywork. The results were life-changing. Not only has mobility been restored, but Nancy discovered much about the magnificence of our human body and the beauty we all contain within our cells.
This heartfelt appreciation continues to inspire Nancy to deepen her knowledge and experience in order to share with others through healing touch.
Nancy Newman received her formal training and certification as a Structural Integration practitioner and began her practice in 2007. Working from her home office in the Fremont area of Seattle, clients feel comfortable and relaxed in the warmth of the friendly yet professional surroundings. Her style is to incorporate a gentle deep tissue approach to allow the body to relax and realign with ease.
Nancy is a Nationally Certified Practitioner in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (LMP #MA00024649) and active professional member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (AMBP). Nancy is also certified in Pregnancy Massage, Sports & Exercise Massage, and Lymphatic Facilitation.
Massage is an excellent way to pamper yourself with relaxation and improved circulation. Taking time for your self-care means that you will have more energy to give back into the many ways you express your life. When we are stiff, sore, or feeling uncomfortable in our body, we tend to have difficulty expressing ourselves with the ease and energy that belongs to our natural state of well being.
On the more personal side: Nancy is an avid Urban (Chicken) Farmer and enjoys the joy and satisfaction she receives from tending her flock of chickens, and caring for her flowers and vegetable gardens. Many clients already enjoy the option of free-range eggs that are available for purchase (when the “girls” are laying steadily).
It is a familiar and friendly sight to be welcomed to your massage session by the chickens as they enjoy being Nancy’s little feathered gardeners on bug patrol.
